  A Message From Our Principal

Dear Parents, Friends, and Community Members,

Thank you for visiting the Ridge Spring-Monetta (RSM) Elementary School website. In addition to learning more about our school and community through our website, I hope you have opportunities to visit us in person to share in our endeavors to provide all of our students in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth a high-quality, educational experience that inspires a love for learning. We strive to achieve this by getting to know each and every student’s educational needs and interests to better assist us in developing instructional plans to best help each student learn. Our school community of dedicated teachers and staff, involved parents and community members, and most importantly, our fabulous students, make this possible.

In addition to quality, standards-driven instruction, we also model, practice, and instill the RSM fundamental beliefs that:

  • all students have the unique potential to learn when given the opportunity to explore all possible resources.
  • a cooperative effort between school, parents, and community is imperative for the education of our students.
  • we should prepare students to function productively in an ever-changing society.
  • we must ensure that the developmental and emotional needs of the students are met.
  • we should provide a safe, healthy, and cooperative environment that is conducive to learning.
  • all children should be exposed to cultural diversity and should be taught to respect and uphold the differences in one's self and others.
  • technology will enhance student performance.
  • appropriate behavior is essential to a productive learning environment.

Not only are these fundamental beliefs important to have at school, but they are to be upheld throughout one’s life. As we reflect on our mission to provide a safe, cooperative learning environment to meet the needs of students by preparing them to function properly in an ever-changing society, we work hard to maximize every minute of the school day by providing all students with engaging and motivating learning experiences.

I welcome your involvement, recommendations, and continued support as we work together to provide your child a worthwhile, nurturing, and educational experience. I invite and encourage you to participate in school events and community functions. We enjoy having you visit with us, whether it is by volunteering at school, observing in the classroom, or by joining us for special celebrations of learning and family events. Please check our website frequently for updates on all the great things happening at RSM. I am honored to be a part of your children's lives and this wonderful school where we are Building for a Better Tomorrow...One Child at a Time.
