School attendance and success in school are directly related. When a student is absent, a parent/guardian must provide a note explaining the absence within five (5) days or the absence is marked unlawful. After ten (10) absences, only a medical excuse is acceptable. If a student misses too many days from school, the student may have to repeat the grade. Eighth graders could become ineligible to receive high school credit for courses offering Carnegie units when too many days are missed from instruction. Students must report to class upon arrival at school. If a student is late, the parent/guardian must enter the building to sign in the student. Please make every effort to be on time and remain at school the entire instructional day. Early sign-out is discouraged.
We request that you please not come to pick up your child before 2:50 PM. We want to stress the importance of instruction, and interrupting classes to call students over the intercom is disruptive.
Students who ride buses will be dismissed at 2:50 PM. Students who walk home or are picked up will be released at 3:00 PM or as soon as the last bus exits the campus.
